Ten minutes from Barolo there is a road that leads straight to a winery, a tasting, a farm among the vineyards.

We are in Castelletto, a hamlet of Monforte d’Alba, one of the eleven municipalities where Barolo is made. It is among these vineyard-covered hills that the Sara Vezza winery, which has been telling its story through its wines for two centuries, was born.

Barolo sara vezza

Tending vineyards is an art, capable of shaping a territory with love and dedication, in a rare synergy between the passion of man and a generous land.

Sara Vezza is deeply rooted in the Langhe

The Langhe is home to the production of some of the finest Italian wines, such as Barbera, Nebbiolo and the king of wines: Barolo.

In five hectares of vineyard dedicated to the production of Barolo on the Castelletto hillside in the municipality of Monforte d’Alba, Sara Vezza tells a story of excellence, vintage after vintage.

Sara represents the fifth generation of winemakers in the Saffirio family. Her mother, Josetta Saffirio, was the first to start vinifying very few bottles under her own name in the late 1980s.

The winery now bears the name of Sara Vezza, who has decided to keep the Josetta Saffirio label for all the Barolo wines and Langhe classics, and to dedicate a new label with her own name (Sara Vezza) to all the sparkling wines, produced in the Alta Langa district.

The cellar, insulated with natural cork, is perfectly integrated into the landscape and, having spent over twenty years working with care and love for the environment in every stage of the production process, has been awarded BiodiversityFriend certification.
